Makeup Tutorial: Smokey Eye

Pretty Camille Before:

Step 1: Put on an eyeshadow base. We prefer Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer. Use fingertips to coat lid with a thin layer and give it at least 30 seconds to dry before applying any shadow.

Step 2: Use medium size eyeshadow brush to shape Medusa’s Helter Skelter (blackish/blue) Eyedust into the outer half of the eyelid. Shape into a semi-pointed cateye.

Step 3: Use Medusa’s Silverado Eyedust (after wiping excess Helter Skelter off your brush onto a paper towel) and apply it to the middle of the eyelid, slightly covering part of the black. Silverado picks up light and dark highlights and is the best silver we have ever found!

Step 4: Use Medusa’s Blow Eyedust on the inner half of the eye, slightly overlapping Silverado. Blow is a white iridescent shadow that really brightens up the eye. This color blends well with every other Medusa Eyedust!

Step 5: Use a Medusa’s Eyedust shadow that is closest to your skin tone for under the brow. We choose Bronze Age for Camille. Use a small to medium brush to dab this color under the brow. Gently blend into the other colors. You do not want to overlap too much here, you just want to blend so there are no harsh lines where the smoky colors were applied. Use a clean brush to then sweep the lighter color (Blow) into the Silverado and Helter Skelter to make a blended, even effect.

Step 6: You can use a very small amount of vaseline or eyemakeup remover on a q-tip to clean up any shadow sprinkles that fell on the cheeks. Apply your eyeliner or any of the already used colors underneath the lower lid to give a more dark/smoky look. We applied a little bit of Silverado and Bronze Age under the lower lid.

Step 6: We applied Mascara and Medusa’s Black Panther Eyeliner on the top lid and on the inside of the lower lid. Finished!!
